DIRECTIONS FOR APPLIQUE
Hoop your fabric and place on the sewing machine.
 Start sewing the design.
The sewing machine will do a running stitch outlining the shape of the design and stop.
Place a square of fabric over the stitched outline. You can use a little spray adhesive if you wish, but I don't.
Start the design again, and this time the sewing machine will outline the design twice with a running stitch and then stop.
Remove the hoop from the sewing machine.
With a sharp pair of scissors (I use small sharp curved tip scissors) cut the fabric away from the design close to the stitched line.
Return the hoop back to the sewing machine and start the design again.
This time the sewing machine will do a low-density column stitch around the design covering up the raw edges of the fabric and then stop.
Look at the design to see if any wild strings or fabric is outside this column stitch. This is your second chance to clip before finishing this part of the design before it sews it final regular density column stitch over the fabric
After clipping the fabric for the last time, start the machine again and the final column stitch will cover up the edges of fabric.
All stops in the future are for color changes or second appliqués
All designs follow this pattern of events.
